Thanks to @Marco for his presentation last night. I got two “take homes” from the meeting.
I need to get to grips with:-
node red, influxdb and grafana
and some sensors for my wife’s vege patch to measure soil moisture and temperature
I also need to apologise to @Belfry. I styled his talk as “Where are we? - GPS Geolocation in Linux”. The actual topic was “What’s the time?”
“On the third stroke it was 8.43.00 precisely.”
I didn’t allow for the time for the system to transmit the audio file over the phone line, convert it to sound and for that sound to reach the tympanic membrane, transfer through the ossicle chain and fire 500,000 neurons so that I could interpret the message that had been sent.
Yeah, thanks @Marco . Like i was saying, i appreciate seeing people using tools like Node Red to help reinforce it in my mind as a solution. I’m inclined to go down a python rabbit hole, but the node red solution you demonstrated was much tidier. Thanks again!
Thanks for the chance to share the project. I really appreciated the opportunity to walk you through it and sparked a few ideas about Node-RED and its interaction with other platforms like InfluxDB, Grafana, and Azure.
And @Belfry, your GPS talk was fantastic. I really enjoyed it and found it genuinely interesting.
