November and December Library Meetings

It’s about time that i booked a some more library meetings. I reckon i’ll book Nov and Dec 2025, and maybe even Jan and Feb 2026.

By November we will have done two more Carindale meetings, so we can swing back up to the northern suburbs again for a while. Chermside is an obvious choice, but i’d like to mix it up a bit. Should we try Nundah again? I’ll make sure i get there in time to get access to the room, but on the other hand alfresco might not be a bad option anyway at that time of year. Maybe somebody knows of another library with good meeting room facilities that we should try.

I also think i should head out to Ipswitch one night. We have great attendance for our meetings in Carindale and Chermside, so i don’t want to replace any of those meetings. I think i’ll head out to the library in Springfield one evening. I’m not sure who on this forum lives out that way. If anybody has an opinion on when they’d like that meeting to happen, please let me know.

Anyway, all of this is to say that i’m psyching myself up to have a session filling out and submitting library booking forms. Please let me know if you’d like me to incorporate your ideas or requirements.

The State Library of Queensland looks quite fun. The Edge already has some great facilities and some of “our people” might already be going there. The main disadvantage is they kick us out at 8 pm.

Also in town is the Brisbane Square LIbrary.

These two might be a little harder for parking but you can argue that at least they’re central.

Depending on where December’s meeting lands it might be pretty close to Christmas Day. Not sure what the turn out will be if it’s ±1 week of Christmas while people have other commitments.

Might be worth doing two online meetings in December instead, rather than 1x online and 1x in person?

Thanks @Belfry. It looks like the fourth Thursday is Christmas day itself. In many organisations meetings shutdown for the school holidays from the week before Christmas to late January but I don’t think that really applies to us.

I’d say we do the second Tuesday and see if there’s any enthusiasm for a second meeting later in the month.

While the break over Christmas is holiday / personal time it can also be a great time to get around to that computer project you’ve been contemplating for the last 3 months. :wrapped_gift:
