Nostalgia, as a “sentimental longing or wistful affection for a period in the past” is OK. You mostly remember the good stuff and try to suppress the bad stuff.
Your post reminds us of how much technology sucked in the past. For me it was installing a CD or getting the soundblaster card to work and frigging around (?faffing) with interrupts. I’d say your post was more “nostrophobia” than nostalgia.
Technology still sucks but in a billion times more sophisticated way. It’s also brilliant in ways we never dreamed of. Such is its yin and yang.
