I'm running out of superlatives to describe AI

Initially and for about a year starting from around may 2025 I was the worlds biggest AI cynic!

Yes, me, one and the same.

My son Sam slowly persuaded me that AI was in fact incredible and slowly I began to try it.
(Note from Sam: Haha, yeah I remember when you just wouldn’t read any AI related web-links that I suggested).

Have a look at my weekly Codeburn graph below!

Anyone who thinks that AI isn’t the most incredible breakthru since the Transistor, is frankly deluding themselves. As I said in the topic, I’ve now used up all my AI superlatives.

Note to David: Deepseek-V4 and GLM-5.2 both got into death loops with a gnarly Tk/Tcl coding problem I had (a long chain of stuff-ups on my part, totally fubar’d the codebase) so I temporarily switched Opencode to Sonnet 4.6 which walked into my codebase like a boss and sorted out the problem in a couple of minutes!

Sure, Sonnet 4.6 cost me $0.327 (for about 5 minutes) to do it but was worth it. Even tho running Deepseek-v4 for a day probably costs the same amount, it couldn’t fix that particular problem.

However it was a Deepseek-v4 codebase, Deepseek designed the app, wrote the Tk/Tcl code, did the GUI menu and was perfect up until I wrecked everything!

As I work on projects, each day with AI, the capability astounds and shocks me.

I really had no idea, it’s amazing Sam didn’t tell me to get a grip and then disown me.
