I’m tempted to jump in on this preview device.

Anyone else interested? Anybody think I’m jumping the gun?

This is cool! Shame that Mycroft was discontinued.

I looked at them. They were very expensive. These look much more affordable.

You beat me to posting this!!!
I got one recently, still tinkering with it lots of fun. Really keen to play with it asking questions and depending on your response performing an action from the latest release.
This leads into a number of “best practices” with home assistant. It should be passive and automatic, rather than having to always ask “Hey google” etc. When playing the TV, automatically set all lights to X, perform Y.
With voice preview asking questions, opens up a whole new world. For example

  1. detect person walks into room.
  2. Device asks if you would like the air-con on.
  3. If you answer yes, turn on air-con.

Much easier than having to ask the device yourself.

Well, after @Belfry ‘s demo of n8n at last night’s Jitsi Meetup, I got a bit fired up. I deployed n8n in my k3s cluster and registered the community license key. It was really easy! Then I thought “now what”, so I ordered a Home Assistant Voice. I’m expecting that I’ll have some good ideas when I have my “Alexa Killer” installed and ready to experiment with.
