DRAM prices up 400 percent in a year!

If you haven’t been watching DRAM prices over the last year you may be surprised how AI has been used as an excuse to quadruple them.

I checked the prices at PC Case gear yesterday against my historical DRAM purchasing records there.

24-02-2025: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz CL16 DDR4 $105.00

Today 28062026: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32GB (2x16GB) 3600MHz CL16 DDR4 $429

400% increase

Even tho there are only four DRAM manufacturers in the world there is some hope that a new Chinese DRAM fab being built may help to lower them … maybe.

I understand that the current supply crunch will continue for at least another 12 months and perhaps extend into 2028.

Anyone want my 2x48 Gb Crucial DDR5 sticks?
