A while back @GregY was helping me get my BYD data into Home Assistant. It kept failing with no connection succeeding in HA although it worked fine on the phone. (Setting up a second phone account is part of the procedure to avoid being logged out of the primary account.)
I had some spare time yesterday, and enough energy, to have another go. It worked first time.
In retrospect I think the issue was that the vehicle needed to have connection to the 4G network and this fails when the car is parked in the garage. It is possible for the car to connect to the house wifi but this is dropped when the car turns off.
